How to Sign Your Title in Kentucky (KY)

Where to Sign

Kentucky car titles must be notarized.

  1. Wait to sign until you are before a Notary.
  2. Front of title - sign where it where it reads "Transferor/Seller Signature or Signature of seller"
  3. Front of title - print name where it reads "Transferor/Seller Printed Name or Printed Name of Seller just under the signature."

Multiple Owners

Only one owner must sign if title states "OR" between owner names printed on the front of the title.

Both owners must sign if title states "AND" or "AND/OR" between owner names, or if nothing is listed between owner names.

Lien or Bank Name on Title

If your Kentucky title shows a lien or a bank name printed on the front, then your title will need to be signed off by the lien holder or have a separate lien release letter.
